Nutrition For Your Body Temple

Today let's continue our talk about holistic health and look at nutrition.

 



Why Nutrition Matters:

We’ve all heard the phrase “our bodies are our temple’. That teaching can be found in 1 Corinthians 6:19. And though there is much more to it, do we really understand what that means... physically? Think about it. No one worships the temple itself, but they worship from within the temple. The caretakers of the temple don’t just focus on making the outside look good—they work tirelessly to ensure the structure is maintained from the inside out, doing all that’s necessary to keep it in tip-top shape or in the order called for. Whether it’s repairing damage, cleaning up, or protecting it from harm, the upkeep is constant. This is how we must treat our bodies, the temples that house our Spirit.

 

Just like a temple, our bodies deserve holistic care—inside and out. They are a divine creation and it’s not enough to dress up the outside if we’re neglecting our health on the inside. Every part of our health journey, starting from nutrition and exercise to mental and spiritual well-being, contributes to a strong, vibrant temple. Let’s explore how we can honor our bodies, not just by the way we adorn them, but by the way we care for them every single day.

 

Fun To-Do List:

 

Let’s take a playful, proactive approach to treating our bodies like the temples they are. Here’s a fun to-do list to keep your body thriving from the inside out:

  1. Plan and Prepare a Healthy Meal. Time to get creative in the kitchen! Whip up a new recipe you’ve always wanted to try or take a beloved dish and give it a healthy makeover. Think of it as fuel for your temple—delicious and nutritious!

  2. Drink at Least 8 Glasses of Water Today. Your body is 70% water, so let’s keep that body-temple hydrated! Make it fun by adding some fresh lemon, berries, or mint to your water. Keep a cute water bottle handy and aim to sip throughout the day.

  3. Limit Processed Foods and Sugary Snacks. Today, reach for whole foods like juicy fruits, colorful veggies, crunchy nuts, and lean proteins. Your body will thank you by giving you more energy and feeling lighter. You might even discover a new favorite snack!

Pay attention to how your eating habits impact your mood and energy levels—it’s all about giving your temple the best fuel!

It’s time to fuel up! Grab some fresh fruits or veggies and prepare a snack fit for a vibrant temple. How about a rainbow-colored fruit salad, bursting with flavor and color? Or maybe some crunchy carrot sticks with creamy hummus? Your temple will be feeling fabulous in no time!
