Before the Season Slips Away: What Spring Has Taught My Soul

It’s almost summer, and you know what that means — the flowers are fully bloomed, the weather is getting hotter (supposed to be), our calendars are filling up fast, and sandals are becoming our everyday shoes.
But before we wave goodbye to spring and step into the heat of this new season, can we take a minute to breathe?
Because spring didn’t just pass through — it planted something. I know it taught my soul something.
And if we’re not careful, we’ll rush right into summer without receiving the lessons spring was quietly teaching all along.
What Did Spring Remind Me
1. Everything Doesn't Bloom All at Once
Some days I was flourishing. Other days I was fighting old fears and feeling tired in my bones or hurting all over. Many days I was just overwhelmed, especially with business. I just couldn’t seem to get it right. And you know what? That’s okay. Growth doesn’t look like perfection. It looks like progress. Though sometimes just very small steps, but I made them. You know, even the trees don’t bloom all in one day.

Galatians 6:9 tells us, to not grow weary in well doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we do not give up.
2. Make Room for New Life
Spring asked me to start letting go — of clutter, old thinking, and even the need to have all the answers. It invited me to clear space in my home and my heart. Because how can God do a new thing if
I’m holding on to everything old?
Tip: Donate what you no longer need. Journal what you need to release. Pray over what you need to make room for.
3. Small Seeds Hold Big Power
Some of the best moments this spring were small — from a card reminding me that what I do is seen and appreciated, to a devoted customer buying a personalized gift and telling me to “do my thing“ because they trust it will be beautiful, to a prayer whispered over someone’s name. Just a few words…not even big speeches. But don’t underestimate the power of the “little” things or a few words. That’s where legacy grows.
💛 This is why Blessed By Your Words exists. To help you plant seeds of encouragement that keep growing long after the season shifts.
A Gentle Check-In Before Summer
Have you been kind to your body lately?
Have you spoken gently to your own heart?
Have you created anything that reflects what God is doing in you?
Have you shared love or legacy with someone who needs it?
If not — there’s still time. Don’t rush. The season didn’t leave you behind. It left you inspired.
Before We Go…
As we close the chapter on spring, I want to encourage you to write down 3 things:
What did I learn about myself?
What do I want to carry into summer?
What do I want to leave behind?
Then bless yourself or someone else with a gift that speaks — maybe a personalized legacy book, a little note of encouragement, a scripture art print, or a self-care box full of thoughtful reminders that your story matters.
Because self-care is spiritual. And legacy is a daily choice. And you are worth being poured into, too.
