Gifting as a Love Language – How the Right Words in the Right Gift Can Change a Life

Have you ever received a gift so meaningful that it stayed with you forever? Maybe it wasn’t expensive, but the words, intention, and love behind it made all the difference. This month, let’s rethink gifting—not as a material exchange, but as a way to speak love into someone’s life.

Why Meaningful Gifts Matter:

If you have ever read the book, "The Five Love Languages" by Gary Chapman. He talks about how we feel loved and give love in a mixture of five different ways with one, maybe two, being dominant. They include: WORDS of affirmation, ACTS of service, Recieving GIFTS, quality TIME and physical TOUCH.

We at BBYW, attempt as much as possible, knowing that gifting is a love language, to help you combine at least four of these languages in our personalized gifts. WORDS. GIFTS. TIME. TOUCH (when you include presenting a love care charm with your gift). And at times it is also an ACT of service.

  1. Words Have Power – A personalized message, quote, or scripture can uplift someone for years to come. Words of encouragement become anchors to uplift and even empower during tough times.

  2. Connection & Legacy – Thoughtful gifts remind people that they matter. They strengthen relationships and the right gift can preserve stories for future generations.

  3. A Simple Way to Show Love – We don’t always have the perfect words to say, but the right gift can do the talking for us.

Here is your CHALLENGE FOR TODAY:

  • Think of one person who needs encouragement this month. What words would uplift them?

  • Think with your heart. What words would make that person feel heard and seen. Write it down if it helps.

  • Send that person a text message right now. A call is even better in some cases. Follow up with a card? Awesome! A card and even a text can be re-read to feel that love, care and concern whenever needed.

  • Of course, you can also consider a special gift that holds meaning beyond the moment—a framed quote, a blessing book, or a keepsake box with a personal note.
